Alfa Laval’s Tube-in-Tube Heat Exchanger is built to efficiently heat or cool sludge containing fibres and particles. Its robust construction ensures effective performance in demanding wastewater sludge processes.
How It Works
The product medium flows inside the inner tube in a counter current direction against the service medium that flows around it within a smooth outer shell tube. The inner tube can be corrugated or smooth depending on the application, while the shell tube remains smooth.
This fully welded setup includes a bellow on the shell tube to handle thermal expansion. Modules are typically linked in series and mounted on frames tailored to installation footprint requirements. Because there are no moving parts this design delivers maintenance free operation and eliminates spare parts inventories.
