Standard Design
The Alfa Laval Unique SSV ATEX range is available in a one-, two- or three-body configuration, with an easy-to-configure valve bodies, plug, sealing, actuator and clamp rings. The valve can be configured as a shutoff valve with two to four working ports or as a changeover valve with up to six ports.
To ensure flexibility, the valve seat that sits between the two bodies in the changeover version is provided for assembly. The valve seals are optimized for durability and long service life through a defined compression design. The actuator is connected to the valve body using a yoke and all components are assembled with clamp rings. Through the Alfa Laval Anytime configurator, the ease of customization virtually for any process requirements.

With a surface that has a fairly fine finish, the smooth, weld-free valve body eliminates crevices that can trap bacteria. The design of the plug supports enhanced cleaning-in-place capabilities, and a double-acting lip seal that minimizes any risk of cross-contamination.

Greater valve durability
To ensure high sealing quality, the Unique SSV range features defined compression of the O-rings with the metal-to-metal contact between plug and seat. This significantly reduces wear and extends valve service life. The standard Unique SSV is supplied with a semi-maintainable actuator that has a five-year warranty.

Operating Principle
The Alfa Laval’s Unique SSV (ATEX) is an air-operated seat valve that is remotely operated by means of compressed air. The valve generally has two working ports for air supply in and for process air supply in and for process air supply; for changeover valves, a third port is required.
